Administrative history

Zion Methodist Church existed in the Rural Municipality of Pembina, located southwest of the Manitoba community of Darlingford, from 1896 to 1925. Zion Methodist Church was built in 1896 to replace the much smaller Ebenezer Methodist Church, located one mile east. In 1901, Albert Law was appointed local preacher. Zion Methodist served a large district until 1902 when the Darlingford Church was built. In 1925, Zion Methodist Church officially joined the United Church of Canada to become Zion United Church.

Custodial history

The records of Zion Methodist Church came to The United Church of Canada Archives-Conference of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario as part of a transfer of records in 1999 from the Pembina Parish Pastoral charge.

Scope and content

The records of Zion Methodist Church held at the conference archives include records of the church board (1899-1924).
