Biographical history
Young United Church has existed in Winnipeg since 1925. The predecessor of Young United Church was Young Methodist Church. The Young United congregation utilizes the former Young Methodist Church structure, which was built in 1911 on the corner of Furby and Broadway. In 1988 fire destroyed the church, leaving only the Bell tower standing. A new multi-use building was erected in place of the church by a partnership of Young United Church and several community organizations. Young United Church is located at 222 Furby Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
