History

The Winnipegosis United Church has existed in Winnipegosis, Manitoba, located almost twenty-seven miles northeast of Ethelbert, since 1925. The church was built in 1901 by the local Methodist congregation. At the time of Union in 1925, the Winnipegosis pastoral field included Fork River, South Bay, Bicton and Heath. Reverend H.C. Harris led worship. In 1956, Winnipegosis amalgamated with Ethelbert to form a two-point charge. The two split in 1972 and Winnipegosis became a one-point charge. At the time of description, Winnipegosis United Church continues to be a single-point pastoral charge in Northland Presbytery.
