History
The parish of St Bartholomew, Winnipeg Beach, was formed on 9 July 1908. Anglican cottagers built a church at the corner of Hazel and Grove Streets, Winnipeg Beach in 1908. It was dedicated in 1909. In 1947 the church was moved to its present location and rededicated 1 June that year. A multipurpose room was added to the church in 1988. It was later expanded into a parish hall. It was officially opened 24 October 1994. St Bartholomew has long been associated with All Saints, Whytewold (OW.103), as well as St Augustine of Hippo, Gimli (OW.031), All Saints, Gunnville (OW.035), Netley Creek (OW.063), St George, Wakefield (OW.100), Meadowdale and Norwood. In 1982, the Western Beaches group was formed and included Winnipeg Beach, Whytewold and Gimli. In 1985, the congregation at Gimli voted to close and amalgamate with Winnipeg Beach.
