Name of creator
William Bertal Heeney was born in 1873. He ordained Deacon in 1900, and Priest the following year in Ontario. He served as Rector of Christ Church, Belleville, Ontario from 1906 to 1909 and at St. Luke's Winnipeg, from 1909 to 1942. He was also the Rural Dean of Winnipeg from 1925 to 1927. He became Honorary Canon of St. John's Cathedral in 1917 and served as Examining Chaplain to Archbishop of Rupert's Land from 1934 to 1942. Heeney wrote several books, including "John West and the Founding of Rupert's Land" (1933) and was the editor for "Leaders of the Canadian Church" (1920) and "What Our Church Stands For" (1932). He was appointed archivist for the Ecclesiastical Province of Rupert's Land in 1933. William Bertal Heeney died in 1955.

Scope and content
The fonds consists of a presentation booklet celebrating 25 years as Rector of Winnipeg, St. Luke (dated 18 February 1934) that includes signatures and parish lists and officers; and a farewell booklet, illuminated and calligraphed, bound in soft buckskin cover, 1909. See file list.
