Biographical history
Westminster United Church has existed in Winnipeg since 1925. The predecessor of Westminster United Church was Westminster Presbyterian Church. The Westminster United congregation utilizes the former Westminster Presbyterian Church structure, which was built on the corner of Maryland and Westminster in 1912. In the mid 1960's, the old manse building at 120 Maryland was torn down and a building was erected in its place to house the offices of the Manitoba conference of the United Church. In 1991, Westminster United Church received status as a heritage building from the provincial government. That same year, the congregation participated in the opening of the Westminster Housing Co-op at 145 Maryland Street. Westminster United Church is located at 745 Westminster Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
