Biographical history
Wesley United Church existed in Winnipeg from 1956 until 1973. Wesley United Church began as a Sunday School in Miles Macdonnel School. In 1956, a church site was purchased by the Church Extension Council on Golspie Street and a temporary building was erected. The congregation adopted the name 'Wesley' in June 1956. Wesley United Church was served by student ministers until 1958, when Rev. Ken Moffat accepted the call made by Wesley. A manse was built in 1960 and in 1961, the first portion of the church structure was completed. In 1973, Wesley United Church joined with Morse Place United Church to form Immanuel United Church.
