The Wellwood Women's Foreign Missionary Society was founded in July 1891 as the Wellwood Auxiliary under the Presbyterian Zion Church (founded 1881) to support its missionary work abroad. In 1976 the group celebrated its eighty-fifth anniversary. It held monthly meetings. During the 1940's-1960's women made a large number of quilts, the proceeds from which went mostly to the church. Further information is unknown.

Records have been presented to the Carberry Plains Archives in 1990 by [Nora Turner] of Carberry, Manitoba.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of minute books (1891-1971), a minute book from the Ladies Aid of the Wellwood Presbyterian Church (1939-1967), news clipping of the affiliate organisation, in London, Ontario, the Women's Missionary Society's 75th anniversary (1989), church bulletin (1989), past presidents list. Includes three black and white photographs and one coloured photograph showing women.
