Biographical history

The Waskada United Church in Waskada, Manitoba, located southwest of Deloraine, was formed in 1925. Its predecessor was a Union church, formed in 1922. The former Presbyterian church was used for worship and Reverend G.A. Dyker was the first United Church minister. The pastoral field included points at Waskada, Princess, Verona, Memosa and Hurnfield. In 1927 the former Methodist church was moved to the present church site and added on as a church hall. The Waskada-Goodlands Pastoral charge was formed in 1959. Reverend Frank Shuttleworth presided over the field that included points at Goodlands, Waskada, Addington, Waterloo. By 1964, however, only Waskada and Goodlands remained on the charge. In 1994, the Cornerstone Pastoral charge was founded. Coulter-Coultervale, Lyleton and Pierson were included in the field along with congregations in Goodlands and Waskada.
