History
Wallace United Church has existed in Wallace, Manitoba since 1922. The predecessors of Wallace United Church were Knox Presbyterian Church and Zion Methodist Church. The congregations of Knox and Zion considered plans of union as early as 1912. With permission granted in 1922, the united congregation became 'Wallace United Church.' The Zion Methodist Church structure was sold and subsequently moved from its location. The congregation of Wallace United utilized the former Knox Presbyterian Church structure. In 1925, Wallace was part of the Hargrave Pastoral charge with Rev. J.M. Wilson presiding. Around 1947, Wallace United Church withdrew from the Hargrave Charge and accepted the offer of Rev. Wilkinson of Virden to hold services in the Wallace Church during the summer months. Soon after, Wallace United Church was amalgamated with St. Paul's United Church in Virden.
