Biographical history
Timothy E. Anna was born in Lexington, Kentucky November 3, 1944. He attended Duke University, obtaining his B.A. in 1966, M.A. in 1968, and PHD in 1969. He joined the History Department of the University of Manitoba as a Latin America specialist in the fall of 1969. He received tenure in 1973 & was made an Associate Professor the following year. He obtained the rank of full professor in 1979. He was named a Distinguished Professor in 1997 and in 2010 he became a Distinguished Professor Emeritus. Dr. Anna has published extensively: he is the author of five books, over 35 articles & book chapters, and 95 book reviews. He was the recipient of an SSHRC research grant 1992-1995 & a Killam Research Fellowship 1994-1996. He was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 1995. In 2000 he was awarded an RH Institute Foundation Medal for outstanding research accomplishment by a senior university faculty member. Consult Dr. Anna's CV in Box1 Fd.1 for further information.

The fonds is separated into 13 series. They include: C.V., articles, MSS chapters ; book reviews, University of Manitoba Committees, University of Manitoba material, research grants, manuscript assessments, conferences, publisher's correspondence, correspondence, student correspondence, Royal Society of Canada , research material, photographs & electronic records.
