Susan Bennet was born in Ottawa, Ontario. She began her ballet training at the age of five. She continued her dance training at the York University Dance Theatre, Nesta Toumine’s Dance School and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School Professional Division. She made her professional debut with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet in 1976, the same year she joined its corps de ballet. She was promoted to first soloist in 1979. After her retirement in 1987, she served as an Administrative Assistant with the Manitoba Theatre Centre and was the Volunteer Co-ordinator for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
The records of Susan Bennet came to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet archives as several transfers of records from the RWB and were also collected by members of the Alumni Association.
