Biographical history

Stewartville United Church existed in the Manitoba community of Stewartville, located southeast of Brandon, from 1925 to 1948. Its predecessor was Stewartville Presbyterian Church, built in 1904, which continued to be used as Stewartville United Church. At Union in 1925, it was part of the North Brandon charge, which later became the Forrest Pastoral charge. Between 1927 and 1928, the church was moved two miles east to the northwest corner of Section 8-11-20. It held its final service in 1948. The church was later moved and the property reverted back to its original owner.

Custodial history

The records of Stewartville United Church came to The United Church of Canada Archives-Conference of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario as a part of a transfer of records from the Rural Municipality of Elton in 1994.

Scope and content

The records of Stewartville United Church held at the conference archives include a Communion Roll (1914-1953).
