Administrative history

Starbuck United Church has existed in the Manitoba community of Starbuck, located approximately 25km southwest of Winnipeg in the Rural Municipality of Macdonald, since 1925. Its predecessor was a Presbyterian Church built in 1904. In 1925, the Starbuck Pastoral Charge included congregations at Ferndale and Prairie View. A student minister, Rev. G. MacNeill led the field. A fire occurred in January 1929 which resulted in a $45 insurance claim for repairing floors, joists, and pews. 1946 minutes note a joint board for Prairie View, Ferndale, and Starbuck. In 1949 the congregation celebrated the completion of a new, full-size basement. It was fully paid for by January 1950. A new front addition graced the building for its 90th anniversary in 1994. At the time of description, Starbuck United Church is part of the Meridian Pastoral Charge with Sanford and Domain in Agassiz Presbytery.
