Administrative history

St. Paul's United Church has existed in the Manitoba community of Morden since 1925. It was formed from the amalgamation of the Methodist and Presbyterian churches in Morden and Nelson. Some Presbyterian congregationalists chose to remain Presbyterian at time of union. Reverend R.W. Rumley presided over the first services at St. Paul’s. St. Paul’s operated out of the former Methodist Church, which had previously been moved from Nelson, a community eight miles northwest of Morden. The Nelson Church and manse were moved to Morden in 1885 and placed on Thornhill Street and 8th Street. In 1956, the United Church and the manse were demolished and the present United Church was built on the grounds of the former manse, and the present parking lot on the grounds of the former church. It was completed in 1957. A narthex, classrooms, meeting rooms, and an office were added in 1986. St. Paul's lies within the Pembina Parish, along with Zion Calvin in Darlingford.
