Administrative history

St. Paul's United Church has existed in the Manitoba community of Virden since 1925. The predecessors of St. Paul's United were Carmel Presbyterian Church and Virden Methodist Church. The Methodist Church structure was renovated in 1925 in order to facilitate the united congregation. Additional renovations expanded the capacity of the sanctuary in 1946. In 1957, the building committee of St. Paul's began planning for an extension to the church, and in 1959, the Christian Education building was completed and dedicated. The structure provided the congregation of St. Paul's with a kitchenette, additional washroom facilities, classroom space for Sunday School and a Minister's study.

Custodial history

The records of St. Paul's United Church came to The United Church of Canada Archives-Conference of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario as part of several transfers of records from Virden charge between 1970 and 1998.
