Name of creator
St. James Presbyterian Church existed in Winnipeg from 1911 to 1925. The predecessor of St. James Presbyterian Church was a Presbyterian mission and the successor was Hampton Street United Church. The St. James mission field originated services in 1910 in a small hall on Marjorie Street. The congregation built a church one year later on Hampton Street and adopted the name St. James Presbyterian Church. St. James Presbyterian Church joined the United Church of Canada in 1925 and changed its name to Hampton Street United Church.
The records of St. James Presbyterian Church came to the conference archives of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario as part of a transfer of records from St. James United Church in 1993.
