Administrative history

The church was built in 1937 on land owned by the nephew of Father Stephanus Soos, who immigrated from Hungary. The parish was served monthly Jesuits from St. Paul's College in Winnipeg, then later by Franciscans and Oblates. It became part of St. Theresa's parish at Plumas in 1957, was transfereed to Ste. Rose du Lac in 1959 It was canonically closed in 1998 with property under the care of Our Lady of the Angels in Amaranth. The church is now a designated heritage site. Sacramental records exist from 1951 to 1993.
