Biographical history

Snowflake United Church existed in the Manitoba community of Snowflake, located 25km south of La Riviere in the Rural Municipality of Pembina, from 1925 to 1993. Its predecessor was The Snowflake Union Church, formed in 1922. Reverend E.M. Graham officiated these first services. In 1925, the Snowflake Union church formally joined the United Church of Canada and the former Methodist Church, built in 1907, was used for worship. The Snowflake Pastoral charge consisted of Snowflake, Point Douglas and Mowbray at the time of Union. Rev. John Linton presided over the first services in the United Church. In 1948, the charge was expanded to include Purves, McKenzie and Windygates while Point Douglas was dropped from the charge. The congregation disbanded June 30, 1994, but retained the church building for special services.
