Biographical history
Sarah Klassen is a Canadian writer. She is the award-winning author of short story collections <i>A Feast of Longing</i> and <i>The Peony Season</i> as well as six books of poetry.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Winnipeg. Aside from writing, she has taught English in the public school system in Winnipeg and at summer institutes in Lithuania and Ukraine. Klassen was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and currently resides there.

This fonds was donated to the University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by Sarah Klassen in 2012.
Scope and content
This fonds consists of drafts of and correspondence relating to Sarah Klassen's poetry, short stories, and literary reviews, including material written as a student. Tearsheets of her published work are included. Additionally, copies of Sophia magazine, of which Klassen was editor from 1992-1995, are included in this fonds, as are copies of other periodicals and newsletters for which she wrote. Material relating to two musical works based on Klassen's poetry is included in the collection.
