Administrative history

The first church,constructed with help from the Canadian Catholic Church Extension Society, was blessed in July 1924. In 1963, the church was replaced by a church building moved from Westgate, and in 1967 a school was purchased for use as a hall. A new church was constructed in 1984. Birch River is on the eastern edge of the Porcupine Provincial Forest. The parish is presently being served from Swan River.
