Biographical history

Stephen Roy Maley was born in Brockville, Ontario on March 10, 1897. He studied piano and voice until a thyroid surgery affected his singing. He became a journalist for the Winnipeg Tribune in 1930, becoming a music critic in 1938. He wrote for the Tribune even after his retirement in 1967, and continued to contribute a weekly music column until the paper closed in 1980. Roy Maley passed away in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 17, 1987.

Custodial history

The records of Roy Maley were donated to the Alumni Association, and then accessioned by the RWB Archives.
