History

The Rev. Robert Martin was born in 1870 and received his B.A. at the University of Durham in 1910. He was ordained a deacon in 1911 and a priest in 1912 for Rupert's Land. He served as curate of Somerset, Manitoba from 1911 – 1912 before serving as the Incumbent until 1920. From 1917 to 1920, while he was in Somerset, he also served as the Rural Dean of Dufferin. He was then the Incumbent of St. Anne, Poplar Point from 1920 – 1925, during which time, he also served briefly as the Rural Dean of Portage La Prairie. He served as the Rector of Carman from 1925 to 1929. He was also the Rector of St. Martin – in – the – Fields, Winnipeg from November to December of 1929. Rev. Robert Martin died in 1930.
