He graduated and was ordained at Grace Church in Winnipeg in June of 1899. During the probationary period of his service, Rev. Allison served Oak Lake, Bradwardine and Huntington. Throughout his ministerial career, Alison served primarily rural congregations, including: Pilot Mound, Prospect, Newdale, Portage, Minnedosa, Roland, Boissevain, Swan River, Manitou, Portage la Prairie, Baldur, and Ninga. He also temporarily served in the urban centres of Regina and Brandon. In 1935, Rev. Allison was honoured by his Alma Mater, Wesley College, with a Doctorate of Divinity degree. Rev. During his retirement, Allison continued to serve in both Mather and Lyleton. Rev. Allison married Millie Holmes Sparling of Beulah in 1903, and the couple shared four children: Wilfred, Mary, Margaret, and Elliot (who died in 1914). Allison and his wife spent their retirement years in Killarney, Manitoba. On May 15, 1953, five years after the death of his wife Millie, Rev. Allison passed away in Portage la Prairie.
