History

Petersfield United Church existed in Petersfield, Manitoba, in the Rural Municipality of St. Andrew's, from 1925 until 1972. In 1925 after joining The United Church of Canada, Petersfield United Church participated in a joint pastoral charge with Dunara and Clandeboye with Rev. L.A. Hadfield initially presiding. Winnipeg Beach later joined the charge for several years before the congregations began a trial amalgamation in 1969. In 1972, amalgamation of the four congregations became official. The amalgamated congregation is known as both the 'Clandeboye Amalgamated United Church' and as the 'Clandeboye Pastoral Charge of the United Church'. The amalgamated congregation was based out of Clandeboye in the winter and Dunara in the summer and later primarily out of Clandeboye, upon erection of a new church structure. The former Petersfield United Church was eventually sold and removed from the site to become a private residence.
