Biographical history

Reverend Peter Strang was a Presbyterian and United cleric, and served as a missionary and preacher in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. He was born in 1856 in the township of Usborne, Ontario, and moved to a farm in Southern Manitoba in 1884. He graduated with a theology and arts degree from Manitoba College in 1897. After graduation he preached in Virden, Manitoba, before becoming superintendent of missions in Southern Saskatchewan. In 1929, Strang wrote the History of Missions in Southern Saskatchewan, and in 1933, he published his autobiography—simply titled Autobiography--in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Scope and content

The papers include one series, a photocopy of Strang’s autobiography. A few photocopies of Strang’s handwritten genealogical history are also included.
