History

In the Pembina Mountain Settlement, located seven miles south of Carman, a Methodist mission was organized in 1875 by Reverend Daniel Pomeroy, a Methodist Episcopal. A church was built in 1877. Both Pembina Mountain and Boyne were part of the Pembina and Turtle Mountain District in 1884. In 1885, they were transferred to the Carman Mission.
