Biographical history
Patrick McIntyre was born June 18, 1936 in Winnipeg Manitoba. He began his dance training at the age of ten with the Winnipeg School of Ballet, making his professional debut with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet in 1951. He was promoted to Principal Dancer in 1955. During the summers, he would perform with Theatre Under the Stars in Vancouver, Rainbow Stage in Winnipeg and also appeared in the CBC production of Parade. He joined the American Ballet Theatre in 1957 and in 1958, moved the London, England, where he spent twenty years performing in the West End and in television. He served as the House Manager of the Old Vic Theatre from 1983 to 1996, was a Senior Assessor in Dance and Musical Theatre for Trinity College for nine years, and an OFSTED Inspector of Dance and Drama Schools for three years. Paddy has remained in England during his retirement.
Custodial history
The records of Patrick McIntyre came to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Archives as part of a transfer of the records from the RWB and from the Alumni Association.

The Paddy McIntyre fonds includes the following series: biographical information (1955-2004); correspondence (2001); newspaper articles (1976); reminisces ([1989]-2005); alumni questionnaire (1990); promotional material for autobiography (1993); and photographs ( 1953-2003).
