History

When the United Church of Canada was formed in 1925, its national magazine became known as "The Observer". It is published by a Board of Directors under the authority of the General Council. This magazine was design to keep the United Churches across the country informed about each other and the National Church. Each church has a representative who keeps track of the number of individuals from their church who request the magazine. A 50% discount is offered to those who order through their church, providing a certain percentage of the congregation applies.
