History
Neepawa United Church has existed in the Manitoba community of Neepawa, located northeast of Brandon, since 1926. Its predecessor was Neepawa Methodist Church and 107 members of the Presbyterian Church. The Methodist church continued to be used as Neepawa United Church. The first United Church minister was Rev. R.G. Pritchard. The congregation began to hold joint summer services with Knox Presbyterian in May of 1939. During Rev. W.A. Osborne's tenure in Neepawa from 1945 to 1951, he supported the efforts to establish a United Church sponsored senior citizens' home which now bears his name. The church had extensive renovations done in 1929, 1941 and 1945 to 1952. A Christian Education Centre was dedicated on December 4, 1960, and a new sanctuary was built in the early 1990s. At the time of description, Neepawa United Church is part of the Neepawa Area Parish, along with Arden and Brookdale and a part of Agassiz Presbytery.
