Administrative history

The parish of St Barnabas was established in Musselboro, Manitoba, now known as Altamont, on 20 April 1886 by Archbishop Machray. The parish received a grant from The Society for the Promotion of Christian Knowledge in 1886 for a church. At the time of its formation, St Barnabas was associated with Swan Lake, St Stephen. Around 1896, "Musselboro" was dropped and the town was renamed Altamont. The parish history of St Barnabas is continued under Altamont, St Barnabas (OW.001).
