Name of creator
The Mountview congregation was formed in 1918 as the central point of a field that encompassed the old appointments of Glenlyon, Strathcona and Gilbert Plains School. The church building was built in 1920. In 1925, Mountview was served by the Spruce Creek field, along with Burrows and Banks. During the 1940s, the congregation was served from Gilbert Plains. In 1953, the Mountview congregation voted to unite with the congregation at St. Paul's United Church (Gilbert Plains). The decision was made to move the church building to town where it would be adjoined to the St. Paul's property. It was used as a Christian Education building until 1968 when a new Christian Education Centre was built. The Ladies Aid continued on as a separate organisation from the Ladies Aid of St. Paul's.
