Biographical history

The Mill Creek United Church was active in Mill Creek, Manitoba from 1925 to 1962. The church was built by the Methodists in 1905. Mill Creek joined the Oakville Charge in 1928. The field consisted of Mill Creek, Oakville, Elm River, Beautiful Valley and Ingleside. Reverend George W. Hinds led the service. The church was destroyed by a cyclone in the 1930s. Worship moved to the local school house until 1940 when a new church was built. At one point, there was a cemetery on the church property. The remains have been transferred to Oakville Cemetery. In 1962 Mill Creek United Church closed. The building was sold to the Christian Missionary and Alliance Church and moved to Oakville in 1966. The U.C.W. carried on for a few years before disbanding in 1968.
