Biographical history

Meadowood United Church has existed in Winnipeg since 1979. An ecumenical survey in the spring of 1979 encouraged St. Vital United Church and Regents Park United Church to sponsor a new church in the Meadowood area. A committee was formed and both church services and Sunday School services were underway by the fall. Early services were held in the Dr. D. W. Penner School in St. Vital. In 1982, the Meadowood United Church began renting office and meeting space in the Meadowood Professional Center. In 1985, Meadowood United Church relocated from Dr. D. W. Penner School to Dakota Collegiate. The congregation of Meadowood eventually erected their own permanent church facility in 1988. Meadowood United Church is located at 1111 Dakota Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
