Administrative history

The Max Narvey Lodge of B’nai Brith was formed in Melville, Saskatchewan in 1950. Members met in the Melville Talmud Torah. The lodge was part of B’nai Brith District Grand Lodge No. 6, based in Chicago. B’nai Brith lodges served as mutual aid societies, social centres and supported B’nai Brith’s mandates to aid Israel and combat anti-Semitism and other forms of discrimination.

Fonds consists of records of the Max Narvey Lodge of B’nai Brith in Melville, Saskatchewan including meeting minutes, correspondence and ledgers. The correspondence is mostly with the regional office of B’nai Brith and lists the members of the lodge. Also included are constitutions and directories of B’Nai Brith District No. 6 and a B’nai Brith guide to rituals.
