Biographical history

Maryland United Church (II) existed in Winnipeg from 1972 until 1992. The predecessors of Maryland United Church (II) were Home Street United Church and St. Paul's United Church. Home Street United Church officially amalgamated with St. Paul's United Church in July 1972. Services of the amalgamated Home Street-St. Paul's congregation were held in St. Matthew's Anglican Church. The United congregation of Home Street and St. Paul's became known as 'Maryland United Church' and together with the Anglican congregation of St. Matthew's became part of the 'Ministry for Tomorrow'. This ministry was also known as 'St. Matthew's-Maryland Community Ministry' and 'St. Matthew's-Maryland Christian Centre'. In 1992, the congregation of Maryland United Church (II) disbanded. St. Matthew's Anglican Church continued to work with the community ministry. The assets of Maryland United Church (II) were donated to the St. Matthews-Maryland Community Ministry.
