Biographical history

Mary Elizabeth (Goodwin) (Hope) Moore (1913-) collected information on the Carberry School of Carberry, Manitoba. She was born to Mary Isabel (Morgan) (-1929) and Bliss B. Goodwin (-1929) at Brookdale, Manitoba. She married James Wilmour Hope ([190-?]-1958) in 1932 and they had three children, including Charles and Muriel. She later married James Henry "Dinty" Moore ([190-?]-1978). As a child, after her parents deaths she had been sent to live with relatives in Regina, where she was finished her education. She retired in 1973 from employment with the Manitoba Telephone System. Further biographical information is unknown.

Custodial history

Records have been presented to the Carberry Plains Archives in 1988 and 1997 by Mary Moore of Carberry, Manitoba.

Scope and content

Collection consists of black and white photographs of main street showing previous fire site, students and teachers in Grades Two and Three (1911, 1916), and a news clipping describing the murder of Gordon Rasmussen (1917). Textual material includes baptismal certificates, diplomas, Carberry School records (1922-1930).
