Name of creator
Marjorie Trotter was born in Brandon, Manitoba, 1903 to parents Beecham Trotter (1860-1934) and Mary Scott (1865-1948). Marjorie Trotter became a Registered Nurse and worked in Rosa, California; Brandon, Manitoba; and Victoria, B.C. She retired to Victoria and passed away in 2000. Marjorie is buried with her parents at the Brandon Municipal Cemetery.
The material in this collection was donated to the Daly House Museum by Marjorie Trotter between 1987 and 1996. Many of the photographs were originally owned by Evelyn Crawford, the daughter of Brandon jeweller, W.E. Crawford. The prior custodial history of the rest of the material is unknown.
Scope and content
The collection contains photographs, documents and books accumulated by Marjorie Trotter. Photographs in the collection include the Brandon Collegiate Matriculation Class of 1902, a meeting of the Women’s Canadian Club, portraits, and photographs of the W.E. Crawford family. Documents in the collection include an invitation for the 25th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. & Mrs. Beecham Trotter in 1912, a program for the Brandon General Hospital Nurses Alumnae Centennial Reunion, postcards, and newspaper clippings. The collection also contains articles written by Marjorie Trotter about her family home and various cookbooks compiled by different organizations.
