Biographical history
Marais - Letellier United Church existed in the Manitoba community of Letellier, located 75 km south of Winnipeg, from 1958 to 1968. It was formerly the Marais United Church, which was built in 1881. The congregation was formed as a result from a congregation amalgamation between Marais United and Letellier United in 1958. Marais - Letellier was part of the Emerson-Dominion City Pastoral charge, along with Emerson, Dominion City, Greenridge-Woodmore, Newbridge and Ridgeville. The Marais church was moved to Letellier, and Letellier United Church, built in 1900, was moved to the farm of Roy Empson on October 7, 1958 to be used as a farm building. The Marais - Letellier United Church closed on December 12, 1968. The building was briefly used as a soup factory and then used by the Golden Age Club until it was sold to Let - Mar Chemicals Limited in 1971.
