Biographical history

MacGregor United Church, located in MacGregor, Manitoba came into existence in 1925 with the amalgamation of MacGregor Methodist and St. Cuthbert's Presbyterian churches, although they had entered a Local Union in 1913. Rev. T. B. Pearson was the first United minister. From 1925 to 1969 the Beaver - MacGregor charge, also included the town of Bagot. The Methodist Church, which had been used for the Union Church, continued to be used for the United Church until it was demolished after the last service on April 13, 1958. A new church on the same site, with the cornerstone from the Methodist church, was completed on February 15, 1959. A hall that had been added when the church served as a Union church was sold to Rossendale for use as a Community Hall. Since 1973, MacGregor has been a one - point charge, but supplied the minister for services in Rossendale until 1984.
