History

Lyonshall United Church existed in the Manitoba community of Lyonshall, located west of Killarney, from 1925 to 1954. Its predecessor was Lyonshall Presbyterian Church, which was located on the northwest quarter of 27 -2 - 18, west of the Principal Meridian. At the time of Union with The United Church of Canada in 1925, Rev. C.C. Whiting presided over the Ninga Pastoral charge, of which Lyonshall and Rowland were a part. It was part of the Ninga Pastoral charge with Ninga and Rowland. By 1953, the church was no longer used for services, and Rock Lake Presbytery officially declared the congregation disbanded on June 9, 1954. The church building was sold to The Presbyterian Church of Canada and the land returned to Harry Bartley, who was the grandson of the original owner.
