Linwood School #644 was founded in 1891 to provide educational services to children of the Linwood, Manitoba area. The old school was replaced in 1942 and remained open until some time after 1961. Further information on students and teachers is available in "Carberry Plains: Century One".

Custodial history

Records have been transferred to the Carberry Plains Archives in 1988 by the Carberry Plains Museum, which received accession 1988.204 from Mr. H. Long of an unspecified place, and in 1992 by Jean Orr, of Carberry, Manitoba.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of daily attendance registers (1944-1959, missing 1946-1948), minute book (1937-1961), finance books (1945-1960), annual financial reports (1949-1960), reports on teachers (1952-1960), tax notices (1951-1956). One black and white photograph showing unidentified students and [teachers] (1902-1903). Registers are indexed for students and teachers.
