Biographical history
Lena Presbyterian Church existed in the Manitoba community of Lena, located south of Killarney in the Killarney-Turtle Mountain Municipality, from 1907 to 1925. The first services in the area were led by Rev. Andrew Stewart in the early 1880s at William Crawford's house. The first service held in the village of Lena was held on April 14, 1907 in the railway station freight house. Services moved to Lena School when it was built later that same year. During the First World War, the Anglican, Methodist and Presbyterian congregations formed a community church which lasted almost 60 years. Services continued to be held in the school until 1925, when Lena Presbyterian Church officially joined the United Church of Canada to become Lena United Church.
