Name of creator
The Knox United Church existed in the Manitoba community of Hamiota from 1925 to 1930. The predecessor of Knox United was Knox Presbyterian Church. In 1925, Zion Methodist Church was united Knox Presbyterian Church with each church serving Hamiota jointly as well as supplying services to Oakner, Scotia, and Chumah. Each church held their own service in the mornings and a united service was held alternate Sunday evenings at Zion and Knox churches until 1930. In 1930, Knox United Church closed and its members joined with the congregation of Zion United Church to form Hamiota United Church. In 1934, the congregation of Decker purchased the Knox United Church building and relocated it to Decker.
The records of Knox United Church came to The United Church of Canada Archives-Conference of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario as part of four transfers of records from the Hamiota charge between 1978 and 1988.
