Name of creator
Located west of Crystal City in Clearwater, Manitoba, Knox United Church was founded in 1925. After forming a local union between the Presbyterian and Methodist congregations in 1921, Knox Union formally joined the United Church of Canada in 1925. At the time of Union, Clearwater was part of a three-point charge with Crystal City and Rosebud with Reverend R.H. Gilmour presiding. Rosebud’s closure in 1970 made it a two point charge. The church was substantially renovated over the years, including a new foyer and basement, and the additions of a wheelchair ramp, office, cryroom stairway, and cloak room in 1989.
The records of Knox United Church came to The United Church of Canada Archives-Conference of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario in a series of record transfers in 1979, 1981, 1985, 2018.
