Administrative history

Knox United Church has existed in the Manitoba community of Oakville since 28 November 1926. Oakville at that time was a five point charge with services at Oakville, Mill Creek, Beautiful Valley, Ingleside, and Elm River. The former Knox Presbyterian Church was used for worship, the former Methodist Church was used as a church hall, and the former Methodist Parsonage was used as the United Church manse. The church hall was sold in 1928. In 1942, Oakville paired with Elm Creek to become a two point pastoral charge. In 1984, the congregation built a new church directly south of the old building, using the same furnishings. Church pews were replaced in 1990. The old church building was sold in 1990 to Douglas McCormick who tore it down.
