Biographical history

Kildonan United Church has existed in Winnipeg since 1929. The predecessor of Kildonan United Church was Kildonan Methodist Church. The Kildonan United congregation utilized the former Kildonan Methodist Church structure, which was constructed in 1912. In 1929, the Kildonan United Church was renovated, and a basement and new heating system were added. A building committee was organized in 1954 to begin planning for a new Kildonan United Church structure, and construction commenced four years later. The new church was completed and opened in June 1958. Kildonan United Church was temporarily joined in a charge with Atlantic-Garden City United Church from 1970 to 1975. Upon closure of St. John's United Church in 1986, several members transferred to Kildonan. Kildonan United Church is located at 187 Kilbride Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
