Johnston Garrioch United Church is located in the northern Manitoba community of Cross Lake, 45 miles north of Norway House. Its predecessor was Cross Lake Methodist Church. In 1954, Sagatiwak became a preaching point. A new church in Cross Lake was built in 1957 and dedicated as Papanakis Memorial Church on February 4, 1958. A Chapel in Natamic was completed in 1959, and it became a preaching point in 1961. A chapel in Sagatiwak was built around 1962. Sagatiwk and Natamic both left the charge in 1968. The church was renamed Johnston Garrioch Memorial United Church in 2005.
