Name of creator
Inglis United Church existed in the Manitoba community of Inglis, located north of Russell in the Shellmouth-Boulton Municipality, from 1925 to approximately 1990. Its predecessor was a Union Church in Asessippi that was moved to Inglis in 1923. At the time of Union with the United Church of Canada in 1925, Inglis was part of the Shellmouth field along with Rochedale. Rev. David Gardiner was the first United minister of the charge. The church building was used until 1953 when a new, larger church with a basement was built. In 1935 a manse was purchased and used until 1963. Inglis United Church held its final service on July 9, 1995.
The records of Inglis United Church came to The United Church of Canada Archives-Conference of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario as part of two transfers of records from the Russell- Silverton Pastoral charge in 2001.
