This series consists of inward and outward correspondence, invoices, sundry papers, salaries and officers' records, financial accounts, 8 photographs, and 4 technical drawings. The records were created by a variety of jurisdictions and accumulated by the Vessels Department within the Accounts Department of the London Office. The majority of correspondence is signed by either the Secretary J. Chadwick Brooks, or the Accountant N. Paterson. The records are arranged alphabetically by subject or vessel and cover a wide range of topics including arrangements for medical professionals on voyages, supplies for vessels, accounts, and the management of log books.
Series consists of ballots of a July postal vote taken on whether the proprietors should support the Dodd and Watkin scheme (presented at that year's General Court) for the HBC to colonise Rupert's Land, if negotiations between Canadian and British governments collapsed. Ballots show support for the scheme's opposition by the Governor. Arranged chronologically.
